Tai Chi for Everyone aims to make Tai Chi available to people who have not usually had access to its benefits

Tai Chi Based Exercise Training

A growing body of evidence from medical trials shows the benefits for older people of taking part in gentle exercise, and Tai Chi in particular.  A major literature review by Wang et al (2004) concluded that: “Tai Chi appears to have physiological and psychological benefits and also appears to be safe and effective in promoting balance control, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness in older patients with chronic conditions.”  Since this review, many more studies have shown positive effects.

Tai Chi Based Exercise training is available for staff in Special Schools, and for those working with elderly people, or adults with learning disabilities.

The Three Day Introduction to Tai Chi Based Exercise for staff working with adults with health and physical difficulties aims to equip attendees with the skills, tools and confidence to offer Tai Chi Based Exercise sessions in their setting. You will learn some of the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as simple movement sequences to use in your setting.  You will learn ways to create a peaceful atmosphere for your TCBE sessions, how to support and inspire the people you work with to take part safely in gentle exercises which can help maintain and improve their general health and mobility. An optional annual Refresher/Update Day is also available.
