Coaching - Ethical Manifesto
1. I will point my clients towards fulfilling their deepest aspirations and champion their progress towards them.
2. I will honestly say what I see, including both great and hard truths.
3. I will only work with clients I can honestly champion.
4. I know that my clients are not ‘broken’ and do not need to be fixed.
5. I will respect my clients’ confidentiality, including the content of our coaching. Even the names of my clients are confidential unless the client gives permission to mention or use their name.
6. I will respect relevant laws, and will not knowingly condone or collaborate with unlawful activity.
7. I will avoid real or apparent conflicts of interest. If potential or perceived conflicts of interest may arise, I will discuss them with my client to resolve how to deal with this situation.
8. When I enter into coaching agreements with organisations, I hold the individuals to be coached as my clients and respect their confidentiality.
9. If I believe, for whatever reason, that I am not the right coach for a potential client, or that coaching may not be appropriate for them at this time, I will offer help to them to find another service.
10. I agree to be bound by the International Coaching Federation Code of Ethics (follow link to Ethical Guidelines).
